Confirmed directly against the source document above. Directly read from the OM PDF (same scanned-document caveat as above — WebFetch's text extraction fails on it, but it was read and rendered correctly). Confirms: DA enhanced from 58% to 60% of Basic Pay, effective 1 January 2026, signed by Samir Kumar Das, Deputy Secretary — and explicitly references the 58% entry's own OM (1/4(i)/2025-E.II(B), 6 Oct 2025) as its prior order, which is how that OM number was found. The AICPI-IW figure of 148.6 is NOT cited in this OM (it never mentions AICPI numbers at all) and remains a secondary-sourced figure from a different publisher (Labour Bureau) — primary verification of the rate itself does not resolve this.
Assumes: DA is calculated on Basic Pay only, per the standard central government formula (Basic Pay × DA% ÷ 100, rounded to the nearest rupee). It does not include NPA, personal pay, or other allowances that some categories of employees may have added to their DA base.
Number formatting note: figures are shown in Indian digit grouping (₹1,23,456) and rounded to the nearest rupee, matching how DA is actually paid.
